    This position assists the Director of Food Services in developing consistency in all dietary departments through orientation, training and follow up so that quality nutritional and food services are provided and budgeted objectives are achieved. This would include delivering training programs to assure implementation of best practice standards, nutritional documentation standards, food services practices, generate recommendations, and action plans for consistent delivery of food and nutrition services.

    1. Insure orientation of all new Registered Dietitians and or Dietary Managers on systems and programs
    2. Achieve excellent Dietary Department survey outcomes
    3. Ensure food and supply costs are within budget
    4. Participate in center quality reviews as schedule allows
    5. Monitor and assist with staffing patterns with recommendations to the RVP.
    6. Provide support and guidance to the regional and center level Food Services Directors.
    7. Assist Director of Clinical Operations with quality goals as they relate to Food Service and Nutritional Service
    8. Monitor weight loss key indicators, QI/QMs, and satisfaction survey results.
    9. Implement and maintain current Dietary Policy and Procedures 
    10. Maintain positive working relationships with several national vendors.
    11. Provide and approve nutritionally accepted Menus and all necessary elements for each facility
    12. Work with accounting to maintain clear GL coding and monitor all “special orders.”
    13. Support proper menu utilization, provide recipes, etc.
    14. Monitor and audit all areas of Food Service per protocols
    15. Other duties as assigned


    • Registered Dietician in good standing with at least 5 years multi facility experience
    • Possess ability to apply critical thinking to a variety of situations, assess objectives, develop and implement and monito effective plans for improvement
    • Experience with LTC Rules and Regulations as well as principles of the hospitality industry
    • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used to perform job responsibilities
    • Ability to work independently, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive feedback
    • Experience with Group Purchasing Systems such as DSSI.
    • Excellent communication both written and verbal and adult teaching skills
    • Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and ability to travel regularly


    Certification/License: Active current Registered Dietitian.
