Responsibilities

  • Assist with tracking emergency operation plan requirements (emergency exercises, evacuation receiving sites, transportation agreements).
  • Implement and distribute emergency operations plan policy revisions.
  • Assist centers with annual review of their emergency operations plans.
  • Review and track Mississippi emergency operations plans as required before submittal to Emergency Planners.
  • Assist with emergency operations training.
  • Review workers’ compensation accident investigation forms.
  • Follow-up with centers on accident investigation to identify causes and minimize recurrence.
  • Track and trend monthly workers’ compensation injuries, claims, and cost.
  • Ability to provide training for center staff on safety committee effectiveness.
  • Track, review, and follow-up with centers based on monthly safety committee participation.
  • Assist center personnel with OSHA recordkeeping to include OSHA 300 Log and 300 A Summary as required by federal and state OSHA.
  • Guide centers on OSHA related programs to include hazard communication, hazard assessments, mock OSHA audits, personal protective equipment, and other OSHA related items as required.
  • Assist with all requests related to the patient lift program and guidelines (training, parts requests, investigations, etc.)
  • Collaborate on other safety related items - fleet safety, corporate office safety/maintenance as directed

 

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in a minimum of one of the following: Emergency Operations, Workers’ Compensation, Patient Mechanical Lifts, Fleet Safety, OSHA, OSHA Logs, and Corporate Office/Facility Safety.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in communication skills both in writing and in a classroom setting to all levels of management and team members.
  • Ability to work autonomously on assigned projects and be self-directed.
  • Develop and implement written policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%-20% of the time.
  • Ability to walk, kneel, stand, push and pull equipment frequently throughout the day.
  • Exertion up to 25 pounds.
