Responsibilities

The Painter will repair dry wall and/or plaster wall resurface and repair, apply paint, varnish, and apply other finishes or wall coverings to decorate and protect interior and exterior building surfaces at St. Martin’s in the Pines.

 

• Preparation of Surfaces: Clean, sand, and fill cracks to prepare surfaces for painting.
• Mixing and Applying Paint: Select and mix paints to achieve desired colors and finishes, applying them using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
• Inspecting Work: Evaluate completed work for quality and accuracy.
• Maintaining Tools: Keep painting tools and equipment in good condition.
• Collaboration: Work with other maintenance staff to coordinate projects and communicate with clients and management.
• Safety Compliance: Follow safety guidelines and regulations during all painting activities.
• Project Estimation: Estimate the time and cost of painting projects.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate work order records and parts inventory.
• Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients and management to understand project requirements.


These responsibilities ensure that the facility's appearance is maintained and that safety standards are upheld. 

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial and residential painting
  • Carpentry and wood working experience is a plus. 
  • Requires attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of color theory
  • Ability to handle both routine maintenance and specialized projects. 
  • Familiarity with healthcare environments, including knowledge of infection control standards, resident/patient safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Completion of High School/GED education or otherwise show ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Positive attitude toward the elderly
